July 2008 Results

Jane's Flag, Tuesday 29th July 2008.

This trophy was presented to the Ladies Section by Jane King when she was Lady Captain in 1994. Jane was unable to play this year but was with us to present her trophy to the winner Catherine, who finished with 9 shots to spare and took the flag back down the first hole and onto the second before using up all her shots. The results were as follows:

Ladies Stableford, Saturday 26th July 2008.

The weather was glorious for this competition and the ball was running well which led to some excellent scores. The results were as follows:

July Medal, Sunday 20th and Tuesday 22nd July 2008.

Forty one ladies played in this competition over the two days. Once again some excellent score and more handicap reductions. The results were as follows:

Stableford, Tuesday 15th July 2008

Thirty seven ladies played today, there were some excellent scores, with the top four players all reducing their playing handicaps. The results were as follows:

Kim Wingrove Cup, Saturday 12th July 2008

This competition should have been played in April but was abandoned due to snow. The Format was Chapman Two Ball - which for those of you who don't know is:-
Both players on a team drive from every tee.
- Player A then plays 2nd shot with partner's drive.
- Player B then plays 2nd shot with partner's drive.
Partners then decide which ball to use to continue out the hole.
- If A's drive is used then A plays the 3rd shot.
- If B's drive is used then B plays the 3rd shot.
Alternating shots, the side finishes the hole as regular pair. Once the players got their heads round this format is was a fun game. The results were as follows:

Thirty two ladies braved the showers to play in this competition, the format was stableford using irons only. The results were as follows:
