Weekend challenge 36 holes, Saturday 22nd August 2009

17 ladies played in this challenging strokeplay competition. They played all the holes at Wexham in one day, with a break for a very pleasant lunch of sandwiches and chips. They started on the blue course in the morning and then after lunch played the red and then straight onto the green course. The weather was very kind to them and the dry weather made the balls roll well which gave some fantastic scores. The scores for the 3 courses were combined and are as follows:

Twelve ladies played in the August weekend stableford in glorious sunshine. We were joined by a number of new ladies that had just got their handicaps. Congratulations to Lorna Kinsman who played in and won her first competition. Results as follows:

August Midweek Medal, Tuesday 11th August 2009

A cloudy but warm day and the sun made a few welcome appearances, unlike our poor captain who was still injured. The three winners were all very pleased with their handicap reductions, none more so than Annette who has been playing for 15 years and this season has been determined to reduce her 36 handicap. She has been playing well and come so close in the qualifiers, but today was the day, despite a 9 on the first hole! So well done! Results as follows:

Well done to both Kathy and Anne for reducing their handicaps and to Anne for an excellent lowest gross of 73. The results were as follows:

Captain v Vice Captain Team Game, Tuesday 4th August 2009

This was a wet and windy day. Unfortunately, Fran the captain was unable to play due to injury which may have contributed to her team's defeat. Well done Mags Bruce who scored the highest stableford score of 44. Most of the players stayed for the very nice jacket potato lunch, served by Alan and his team. It was also very pleasing to welcome back Abi Morgan after her long absence due to the operation on an old injury. The results were as follows:
