August 2007 Results

Captain v Vice Captain, Tuesday 28th August 2007

45 ladies played in brilliant sunshine,(the Lady Captain appears to have a direct line up there to secure good weather!!) Congratulations to Sue and her team who soudly beat Maria and her team. The course was in perfect condition reflecting some high scores, a very nice lunch followed. The whole day was very enjoyable. The results were as follows:

August Stableford, Sunday 19th August 2007

Despite the ominous looking weather, we were very lucky that a bit of drizzle was all that bothered us for the monthly stableford. Some of the greens were a bit wet, but some great scores were achieved none the less. The results were as follows:

August Medal & Gerry Sturgess Trophy, Sunday 12th & Tuesday 14th August

Twenty four ladies played in total, twelve on each day. Those who played on Sunday had considerably better weather than those on Tuesday, who had to contend with constant rain which made the greens and competitors very waterlogged. Despite the conditions the winner, Lesley Adams who played on Tuesday, managed to come in with a fantastic score 11 under her handicap. The results were as follows:

Curtis Cup, Tuesday 7th August

This competition is played with irons only, although rescue clubs are allowed. Normally it is played during the winter which makes things very difficult, so this year it was changed to August. Thirty five ladies played including Maureen Bailey and Janine Prunty, both of whom have been unable to play for most of the year due to injuries. The results were as follows:

Anne and Peter's Trophy, Saturday 4th August 2007

Anne and Peter kindly donated this trophy to be played for in the summer when they left Wexham for Brussels, Belgium. The format for this competition is stableford played off seven eighths handicap. The course conditions and weather were both good. The results were as follows:
