September 2005 Results

Match vs Bird Hills, Thursday 29th September 2005

We played our final match of the year against Bird Hills. The course was in splendid condition and everyone enjoyed the challenge. The individual matches ended up being all square - we won two, one was lost on the last hole, the other was 2 and 1 - so a pretty good result overall. We enjoyed our final buffet and passed our thanks to Paulo for taking care of us so well over the past months.

Jac's Putting Competition, Tuesday 27th September 2005

Jac Fraser was Lady Captain at Wexham eleven years ago and left this trophy to be played as a putting competition. Thirty two players took part and the results were as follows:

 1st  Cindy Shannon  27 putts
 2nd  Liz Lunn  30 putts
3rd  Val Ritchie  31 putts ocb

There was also a prize for the best nett score, won by Betty Halley with a nett 64

Match vs Hennerton, Thursday 22nd September 2005

We arrived at Hennerton to the first day of mist with the sun trying to poke through, which made it initially very difficult to watch where the balls ended up. We welcomed Abi Morgan to the Wexham team to play in her first InterClub Match competition - she enjoyed the experience. We all had good rounds ending up winning 3 and losing 1, so not a bad result. Our thanks to Hennerton for entertaining us after the game

September Medal, Sunday 18th and Tuesday 20th September 2005

We had a good turnout of 50 ladies for the September Medal. We were very pleased to have Marcia Malia play in her first competition since getting her handicap of 31.

The annual Rose Bowl match took place at Wexham this year. Wexham were the winners, winning two matches, losing one match and drawing one match. We look forward to returning to Hurst next year. Match vs Haste Hill, Wednesday 7th September 2005

Both teams enjoyed an excellent match. The weather was once again kind to us. There was lots of friendly rivalry but unfortunately after a hard fought battle Wexham won one, lost two and halved one.

Frank Jones Trophy, Sunday 4th and Tuesday 6th September 2005

52 ladies continued to enjoy our summer weather to play in the Frank Jones Trophy over Sunday and Tuesday. Lin Ives came in with a fantastic score, but only just pipped Florence Smithies to the post. Welcome to Tomiko Lea who played in her first competition with us. The results were as follows:
