Charity Day 2007

Air Ambulance Crew The Wexham Park golf club biennial charity day was held this year on Saturday 14th July 2007. The main beneficiary of this year's fund raising efforts was the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance. The air ambulance landed on the course during the day and the crew are pictured here with the club captains.

A total of £9,100 was raised on the day, of which £1,000 will be donated to Wexham Park Hospital with the balance going to the air ambulance.

Golf Competitions

Charity Day winnersThis year the format for the golf was a four ball better ball stableford competition with two shotgun starts at 7am and 1pm. Seventy teams of two entered the competition and there were also prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin on each of the par 3 holes.

For an additional £5 entry fee, players could enter the hole in one competition. On each par 3 hole there were different prizes that could be won for a hole in one ranging from a set of irons to a car. Unsurprisingly, no one managed to claim one of these prizes. This competition also included a prize for hitting the green off the white tees on the 10th (198 yards drive) and several players successfully did this to win a sleeve of balls.

The winner of the putting qualified for the 'golden putt' which was a single 60 yard putt to win a set of clubs. As the winner of the putting was a junior aged under 18, the golden putt attempt went to Gerry McIntyre. Gerry had an excellent attempt coming very close to the hole.
