Twelve ladies took to the hills in Surrey - 2 days away at the Selsdon Park Hotel and Golf Club.
The hotel is enormous - plenty of room for us all to get lost in - I'm not sure whether Julie ever found her room.
We laughed a lot, had some terrific golf and everyone was on their best behaviour, with the exception of a few who will remain nameless! It was a long, arduous course with plenty of challenging holes - however no water.
It was particularly pleasing to have some of our relatively newer players join us - Annette, Jeanne and Patricia - they got a taste of what it's like when we're "off duty" and they certainly joined in the fun.

Sunningdale Ladies Open Foursomes
This competition is open to pairs who play off a combined handicap of 24 or under. The format is match play, played over the course of three days at Sunningdale, culminating in the final on Thursday afternoon. On Tuesday 13th September one hundred and twenty eight competitors from clubs all over the country took part in the first round. Janine Prunty and Lin Ives represented Wexham Park. In the first round they were drawn against Lady McClaren and her sister whose combined handicap is sixteen. Janine and Lin won by 2 holes. In the afternoon they won again by 2 holes. On Wednesday morning the margin was 4 and 3 and in the quarter final in the afternoon they won by 3 and 1. The semi final was played on Thursday morning in appalling conditions but victory for our pair was sealed on the last green. The final was against a pairing from Wokingham and Sunningdale golf clubs. (The Sunningdale lady had been playing there for 53 years). Unfortunately these ladies won on the sixteenth green. Janine and Lin have put Wexham Park on the map as they were the only competitors from a pay and play course as opposed to a private club and the results were published in the Telegraph on Saturday 17th September. Well done to Janine and Lin for being the runners up.
