August 2005

Wednesday Evening Ladies

Wednesday evening sessions have now finished. Fifty-one ladies took part this year and ten have attained a handicap and are now playing with the ladies on Tuesdays and weekends. The standard of golf this year was probably the highest ever so watch out for some stiff competition! On the final evening of the year forty ladies, including those who have helped out throughout the summer, took part in a Texas scramble and then enjoyed a buffet afterwards. The winning team were Pat Fullick, Sandra Dowler, Juliet Parker and Eileen Bell.

Phil has been an excellent teacher for our group of Wednesday evening ladies - so tolerant - always smiling! Now let's see if our ladies can put into practise all that they've learned over the three clinics.

Congratulations to Linda Williams who had a hole in one on the 3rd hole of the green course on 10th August.

The ladies who have attained their handicap so far are:

BARBARA BAYLIS 35 ALISON CLIFFORD-KING 27 LYN DICKESON 23
SANDRA DOWLER 27 LYNDA FLETCHER 36 LESLEY HUNT 31
ABI MORGAN 21 MOIRA NICOLSON 33 PATRICIA TOOLE 34
CLARE PREECE 30

Best front nine was Sue Goodliffe with 21 points and best back nine was Viv Phelan with 17 points ocb. Hole in one for Maureen

Congratulations to Maureen Bailey for her hole in one on the fifth hole on 25th August. She said it was a shame that it wasn't an eclectic card!
